Ultrasound pictures!

Sorry it has taken so long to get these up! We've been battling the flu at our house the last few days and I haven't really been able to get much of anything done. But now that I have a chance, I want to share with everyone the pictures from our latests ultrasound!
We had this last Wednesday, and everything seemed really fine. My pregnancy by the doctor's caluclations was 20 weeks exactly on the day of the ultrasound, and based on the size of the baby I was 19 weeks 3 days. So pretty close, which means that the baby is just a little small for the age but really seems to be growing normally.
Everything was accounted for as far as limbs and other body parts, so taht is good! The baby's stomach was full, because I guess that babies drink the amniotic fluid while they are in the womb and then it passes through like it would an adult. So it was funny because there was this big, black blob (say that five times fast) in the middle, and the radiology lady pointed at it and was like "Oh, baby's tummy is pretty full!" She couldn't find the baby's bladder, but thought that was probably just because the baby had just "emptied" it :)
Baby's leg. A side view, all the way from the hip to the toes!

Almost a full-length shot. Baby is looking down, toward the bottom of the screen.

Almost everytime we got a shot of the baby's head, th ebaby had its hand tucked up by its chin. Kind of like the thinker pose...I wonder if that is telling us something about the tiny prodigy brewing in my belly!

Baby is looking up towards the top of the screen. Good profile shot!

The alien picture! :) The baby is looking straight out at the camera. Again, its hand is right up under the chin.

And finally, the money shot!!! As you can see, the radiology tech labeled the picture a baby girl...question mark! We couldn't get a clear shot of the gender so we aren't entirely sure. The first time, she had her legs crossed; the second time, the umbilical cord was in the way so it looked like a little boy, but then we figured out that it was just the umbilical cord. So this was the third shot, and as you can see there weren't any "little boy parts". SO, as of right now, the radiology tech said that "it is safe to assume that it is a little girl, but we can't be sure". We're going to go back for another ultrasound in a couple of weeks to be able to tell for sure, but I've already gone out and bought pink things :)

I know, it looks pretty convincing, right? We appreciate your professional opinion ;)

But the radiology tech said that her son was supposed to be a girl, and they went back and looked at the ultrasound pictures later, and he was actually holding his little XY parts out of the way...and that she has had other ultrasounds where they have done that!

Soooo...yeah! But when they are a little older, it is easier to see everything more clearly, so hopefully when we go back in we'll get a better idea :)

Definately looks like a girl though, huh? :)

GPA says "save the receipts!" Looking for the next installment for confirmation. Never made out an ultrasound picture before but these are so improved and with everything spelled out - really appreciate your sharing them. Why are the eye sockets looking empty? Can't wait until June. XO GMA
